Spytec GPS Version 1.7 is focused on added functionality and ease of use. The mobile apps in particular have received new features designed with customer feedback in mind, to give users a more intuitive and efficient experience.
Contextual Tracker Cards
Contextual tracker cards appear when you follow a specific tracker. They provide you with additional data at a glance, including the current status and address of the tracker, weather, nearby businesses/locations and an alternate view of the map. For example if you use the light mode as your default view, the new tracker cards will show you a zoomed-in view of the satellite map mode. The inclusion of nearby locations and landmarks adds context about the tracker’s location and gives you a much greater sense of its surroundings without you having to have direct knowledge of the location. Weather conditions near the tracker give you greater insight into what is happening with the valuable items you are tracking. The tracker icon at the top of the tracker card now also features the same status ring as the Spytec web application. The ring lets you know immediately whether the tracker is stopped or moving, based on its color and behavior. A solid red ring means it is stopped, while a flashing white ring means the tracker is currently moving.
Map Layers
The fullscreen map is a great way to see where your tracker is at any given time. Map layers allow you to change the map mode on the fly without changing the screen at all. The second main function of the layers is the map objects. Objects allow you to add information about the tracker information directly to the map. First is boundaries. You can quickly add all of your boundaries to the map as you track your device.
Second is the option to see recent activities. This will draw the line with directional arrows showing the recent activity and routes taken by your devices, giving you insight into exactly where your trackers have been during the last day. The generated line matches the color of your tracker icon and the weight of the line will change depending on the zoom level. The direction indicating arrows will also change in frequency as you zoom. At a high zoom level, each of the day’s positional reports will also be present on the activity line.
Tracker List
To assist our users who have multiple devices connected to their accounts, we have added the Tracker List to our mobile applications.
This allows users to see all their devices, with contextual information and a zoomed-in map view on a single page. The Tracker List is an excellent way to get at-a-glance context about multiple trackers without having to navigate to a new page.
Automatic Follow Mode
Now when you select a tracker icon in the mobile app, it will automatically begin following the selected tracker.
New Alerts
Five new alerts have been added to the Spytec GPS platform. These alerts are designed to help you gather the insights you need from your tracker(s).
Trip Start - Alerts the user when a tracker has begun a trip.
Trip End - Alerts the user when a tracker has finished a trip.
Trips Exceeds Distance - A user-configurable alert that tracks the distance covered by a tracker during a single trip. The user is alerted when the distance is exceeded.
Trip Exceeds Duration - A user-configurable alert that tracks the time duration of a trip. The user is alerted if the time is exceeded.
These new alerts allow you to keep track of your fleet or your teen driver with precision and control, without having to spend all day looking at the map.
