There are several reasons why a tracker may need to be replaced, ranging from a hardware defect to a need to upgrade your device. Follow these steps to get the replacement device activated on your account.
Please note: A device can only be added by the Account Owner. If you are an Admin or Collaborator on an account, you will not have permission to replace a device on the account.
💡 Quick Tip: Once a tracker is removed from an account, the tracking history will no longer be available for review. Before replacing your device, we recommend downloading any tracking history you may need. For more information on exporting your data, please click here to review. |

Step 1: Log in to our app from a web browser: app.spytec.com.
Step 2: Once logged in, click on the menu icon in the top left corner, and choose "Preferences."
Step 3: Navigate to the end of the menu along the top of the screen and click the button on the right-hand side.
Step 4: From the dropdown on the right side, select "Replace an active tracker."
Step 5: The list of active devices on your account will appear. Select the device you wish to replace and select "Next."
Step 6: Enter the IMEI of the new device in the box.

Step 7: The following message appears confirming the replacement was successful.
Step 8: Once the replacement is complete, the tracker will be live on your Spytec GPS account. Follow these steps to get the tracker online:
- Charge Up: Ensure your tracking device is fully charged.
- Power On: Turn on your tracking device using the power button located on the top of the device.
- Connect: If not immediately connected to our GPS satellite network, walk or drive around outside for 5 to 10 minutes.
Mobile App:
Step 1: Log into your account from the mobile app. Click here for a direct link to the mobile app
Step 2: Tap the menu icon on the bottom right-hand side.
Step 3: Scroll down to the 'Preferences' section and tap 'Account.'
Step 4: Click the button on the right-hand side.
Step 5: On the pop-up menu, select 'Replace a new tracker.'
Step 6: Verify your account by re-entering your login information.
Step 6: The list of active devices on your account will appear. Select the device you wish to replace and select "Next."
Step 7: Enter the IMEI of the new device in the box.
